For all of mankind’s life span we have tried to worship something. In the begging we worshiped the earth from which we sprang, but we grew to understand it so we turned to worshiping fire. But all fires go out.So we looked to the heavens to the biggest fire we could see and decided to worship that. But even that faded away with the day.And with it went the bounty and beauty of the earth as well as the safety of the day,
which then gave way to the wolves of the night.
Why worship something that would forsake you in the winter? So then we turned to the intangible. What if the sun was a thing like us?What if it was a person that fled the dark like us? Maybe that’s why the sun left us a night! But why does that only apply to the sun?Why not to the moon and earth and fire and wind? And as society grew and other things emerged why not have gods that governed all the new things as well?Fantastic!A go for the crop, the sea, the wind, for messages and even the dead! But surely there must be a governing God for all these other gods?Of course why not?But then we get a problem.from all these Gods one individual emerges and reforms the system to be monotheistic! One god one banner to unite all of mankind under! But even this changes and modifies over time with everyone falling out and saying that their belief system is better than everyone else’s!But even in this new world with all the war and oppression a few people decide to turn and look at the natural world. And they see the beauty and complexity in its chaos, but it can be predicted and controlled,so it cannot be worshiped, but only studied. This new system of study and research steadily makes life easier and better for all of mankind, soon we are elevated from the base fields and toil and grime. We can have glowing cold boxes of food!We can have light in the darkest of places! And we no longer need to put our faith in the intangible we put out faith in what other people can prove through tests.
Then society grows and grows and our new faith goes into our own creations into our business and markets and jobs. But then the system grows and grows and everyone gets richer and richer and for some reason we feel that what we have created will continue growing so we find that we can build higher. But many of us don’t have money,so we borrow it and edge closer to the inevitable we build castles on thin air, credit. Then someone asks for their money in a tangible way and no one has any! Then everyone starts asking for their money so banks go to other banks who go to the government who go to other countries but the government cannot pay them back ,so the interest grows and grows but as we try to desperately claw back some economic stability we fall and our castles collapse.
You really make it appear so easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be actually one
thing that I think I might by no means understand.
It seems too complicated and extremely wide for me. I am having a look ahead to your next post, I’ll try to get the hold of it!
